TRENDS & CLOTHES & THINGS

A small space where I can express my thoughts on current trends, future trends, and everything in between.

COMFORTABLE AT HOME

2020 Interior

Finding the perfect comfort and happiness at home has become a trend that unexpectedly came about through the spread of COVID-19, quarantining, and staying at home. Before the spread of the virus, interior design and furniture were looking towards a more simple aesthetic with soft edged, natural earth-tones, and focusing on natural and simple looks. However, because of the quarantine, trends have shifted drastically from the comfortable minimalist with small subtle incorporation's of natural elements to growing into an eclectic 2020. The rise of the eclectic trend emphasizes the need to be visually stimulated at home. The trend also highlights the growing trend of thrifting and upcycling. Because the eclectic trend is largely recognized through the use of different trends through different eras, thrifting has become a popular option for some who are looking to get that older look at a cheaper and more sustainable price. These home have a wide variety of mixed patterns and textures.

I slowly watched this trend take over personally with each target visit I made throughout the pandemic. I tend to make my way through the home decor section, specifically the Magnolia section every time I shop because of my love for target home (not sponsored, lol). I watched the decor go from white canvas prints with very minimal design and light tan interior colors, to bright colors and graphics. Not only that, but they also started selling the some of the wall-decor with gold antique-like framing. All of which, can be stimulating eye work for all of us, who are stuck at home and are forced to love the walls we live in.

FEATHERS

2020 Trend

Ever since Kendall and Kylie made a lasting impression in their feathered up gowns at the 2019 Met Gala, Brands have been looking to incorporate the upcoming trend into their own designs and products to shop right now. Shopping online recently, I've spotted different companies and brands selling feathered garments that give off a sophisticated and fun look.

ATHLEISURE

2010s: decade look back

Lululemon, Athleta, or Albion Fit, the casual trend of athleisure in modern fashion has taken over the style trends of 2010s. Modern athletic wear turned into luxury items that walked the runway, were styled with formal pieces, and created a buzz for a health movement. Alternatively, designer brands were found styled with already well-known brand such as Nike, Adidas, or Reebok.
